New VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic Groundbreaking in The Villages

It took a lot of hard work, but we finally got it done! Earlier this week I had the privilege of attending the ground-breaking ceremony for a new VA community-based outpatient clinic dedicated to serving the needs of the Villages’ veterans. In 2003 when I first inquired about wait times for VA services in the Villages, I was told there was no wait, but you and I knew better. With the help of developer Gary Morse, who donated the building, and the hard work of many at the VA, I was able to make a Sumter County Villages clinic a reality. That clinic opened in 2005 and has been serving area veterans for the past three years; now we have a new clinic on the way to provide greater health care services to Villages veterans.

I consider serving our nation’s veterans to be one of my most sacred duties, and I will not rest until I am certain our vets are getting the benefits they have been promised and the care they deserve. Sumter County had no Veterans Clinics before I took office and vets had to travel to Citrus, Hernando or Lake Counties. Now you can get care nearer to home, saving time and precious gas. It is my honor to serve you, and with this new clinic in the Villages, we are closer to truly honoring our vets.

Thank You,

Ken
